Warlords Crystal of Powers Review
This is a NetEnt game that we have played a lot. It’s a 5-reel slot with three rows. The game take place in medieval times, in the background are warriors walking towards some kind of battle field. “The story is about the three remaining rulers after years of war and pillaging”: The Barbarian, The Priestess and The Samurai. The three leaders try to defeat each other. Each leader or warlord is a symbol in the game. Each leader has its own pet (battle animal). Each warlord symbol covers an entire row. These bigger symbols consist of a warlord and its pet. They are the more valuable ones. The lower valued symbols consist of three animals, a panther, a wild boar and a wolf.
The wild symbol displays a red, blue and green jewel surrounded by gold. It will substitute for all, except the scatter–symbols Warlords have 3 different types of scatter-symbols, a green, red and blue banner. The banners belong to the three Warlords and appear on reels two, three and four. You will receive different kinds of freespins, depending on what kind of scatter-symbols (banners) you get. If you get three scatter-symbols in the same color you will receive freespins. If you get two scatter-symbols you have the chance to get freespins, since a battle event will take place. A rock with fire might land on the game-field and reveal a 3:rd banner. If you only get 2 banners and the rock doesn’t reveal a banner you will get a big coin win instead. If you get three or more green banners you will be awarded with Priestess freespins. If you get three or more blue, Barbarian freespins and if three or more red, Samurai freespins.
(Green) The Priestess freespins – 7 freespins
“An extra Scatter symbol increase the multiplier ( a multiplier by x1 for each Scatter symbol).”
(Blue) The Barbarian freespins – minimum 9 freespins
“Only animal and warlord symbols are present and a new Scatter symbol adds 3 extra Free Spins”
(Red) The Samurai freespins – 5 freespins
The Scatter symbol becomes a Sticky Wild remaining under the entire “Freespins-mode”.
The Barbarian freespins are our favourite. Since you get 3 additional freespins when a scatter-symbol (banner) hits the game-field the freespins-mode can last for a long time and become very exciting.
While playing the game a wild-feature randomly appears. There are three special wild features except “standard wilds.”
The Barbarian hammer: You get 4 wilds shaped as a square
The Priestess arrow: You get between 2-5 wild symbols*
The Samurai sword; You get between 2-5 wild symbols.*
* The wilds appears on different reels on Priestess and Samurai feature
MINIMUM BET: 0.15€
MAXIMUM BET: 150€
Some games are a bit rigid and it can be irritating when only a straight or diagonal payline, creates a win. Wins in Warlords are triggered in many ways . It makes the slot more “living” and fun to play. The graphics are good and have high NetEnt quality. The adventurous background war-music is great. The different sound effects are also good. We like that the game feels fast but the best with this game is the scatters with its 3 different freespin modes. It’s a very nice feeling to recieve scatters in this game and the battle-sequence, which occurs when you only get two banners is really exciting. Warlords is perhaps a bit more complicated than most games but it doesn’t bother us. Most reviewers give the game a good score some even a top-score. We are among the ones that think the game is excellent. It is a very entertaining game and we like that you can bet 0.15€. Perhaps 0.2€ bet is to much sometimes and 0.1€ bet is to low and slow if you are dealing with a wager. In many circumstances we believe that a 0.15€ bet will be a good choice and a moderate bet.
Overall score: 4.5/5
