Asgardian Stones is a 5 reel, 3 row and 20 payline slot. The gamefield consists out of blocks, some of them are huge, even colossal.
On the blocks are the faces of Norse gods, this creates excitement. In the backdrop, you can see mountain walls and runestones.
When the falling blocks disappear or explode you can spot a mighty looking Norse city far away in the background. The blocks, sometimes explode because of the avalanche feature.
This feature is used instead of classic spinning reals. When you receive a win or a winning combination occurs, “the symbols in that win will explode”. It means that another symbols will take the empty place. The process repeats until no more winning symbols appear. When winning combinations appear reels are free for fresh symbols.
Anyways, the lower valued symbols are, Q, K and A.
The more valuable ones are the faces of Norse gods. There is also a wild symbol that substitutes for all symbols except the Bonus wheel.
Colossal Symbols
“All symbols in the base game and in Free Spins also appear as a Colossal version. (except wild in the main game)” A colossal symbol has the size of 2×2 or 3×3 symbols.
During an avalanche, a Colossal symbol may fall in. Once the huge symbol has been placed, any remaining empty spaces are filled with regular symbols. It’s not possible to have 2 or more of these symbols visible at the same time.

After the first avalanche, this feature can be activated in both main game and during Free pins.
These colossal symbols are either 2×2 or 3×3 and when they are a part of a winning combination, they explode and make room for new winning combinations.
The feature can crush extra rows of symbols underneath to show for bigger wins. For each row that is crushesd, the multiplier increases by 1.
Asgardian Stones Slot Bonus Wheel Feature
The wheel is a block of 3×3 symbols that only can land on the last 3 reels, both in main game and during free Spins.
Once all avalanches and win evaluations are over, the wheel stops. You can win coin wins, free spins or both.
The amount of coins and free spins won in the active field of the Bonus
Wheel will be equal to the number of rows that 3×3 symbol covers, that is, +1 prize for each row.

Verdict
NetEnt is a Nordic company, maybe it’s why Asgardian Stones, based on Norse mythology, is such a well-made slot. The graphics are stunning and it’s a wonderful feeling to enter a world of mythology. The sound effects are crisp and of high quality, it’s enjoyable to hear the blocks both to explode and fall.
The dark and uncanny background music is also very pleasant. Since the sound is so appealing you should play this slot with loud sound! The slot feels mighty and the avalanche mechanicm is certainly a successful feature. However, it’s not as entertaining as in Gonzo’s Quest. The best with this slot, is of course to reach the Free spins mode. It’s not just the Free spins that are awaited, also the mighty special music during the free spins is highly appreciated!
An awesome thing is that you can activate up to 25 additional free spins in free spins mode. Maybe there could have been more than just bonus spins in this slot and another bonus feature would have been awesome. It should also be possible to win more than 25 additional Free spins.
